«My small motherland»

We talk tenderly about our small motherland. I`d like to tell you about my small Motherland. It’s Sloboda. My small village differs a little from other quiet village of Central Russia. Everything is simple. But the nature is nice, with wonderful and impressive landscapes. That is why the air is clean and fresh. There are big forests, impressive and a beautiful river «Sestra» so Sloboda is called as «A village by the river». You can admire swimming and sunbathing in summer, skating and skiing in winter.

Here I was born and made my first steps. From the first days of life around me are warm and caring family members, warm rays of the hot sun. And for me there is no place more beautiful than my village.

Sloboda is located about one hundred kilometers from Moscow, about twenty kilometers from Klin. The name of our village «Sloboda» means settlement of free people. At first before 1965 there were three collective farms. But then a state farm «Slobodskoy» was founded in 1965.

The years went by. The village grew. Today we have a lot of buildings: the houses; kindergarten; sports complex (a lot of students, teenagers, men and women take part in many sport competitions here. These are volleyball and football); a house of culture «Zaretchye» ( it celebrated the thirtieth anniversary this year). At the moment there are 1310 villagers of different ages and different nationalities in our village. All live one friendly family.

We have a nice school. It was built in 1983. We shall celebrate the thirty-fifth anniversary of our school next year. There weren’t any bushes and trees. Former students of closed schools continued their study here. It’s Donkowskaya eighth-year school. It’s Slobodskaya elementary school. Teachers, parents and students cleaned, prepared their new school. Today there are a lot of beautiful trees and flowers, a small garden around it. There is a museum in the school. I like my school very much, because we have not only good lessons but a lot of interesting parties.

There’s a monument of unknown soldiers near the road. Every the ninth of May we go there to honor their memory.

There’re three churches in our neighborhood. There’s the Church of St. George in the village Podterebovo.

There’s the Church of the ascension in the village Borschovo.

There’s the Church Of Dmitry Saloon in the village Aksenovo. Father Feofan comes to our school to tell us about religion.

I like my little village and I’m proud of my small Motherland.
