1. Read the rule.

Конструкция There is/ There are употребляется для сообщения о наличии в данном месте какого- либо лица или предмета. Если этот предмет один, употребляем конструкцию there is, если же предметов много, то употребляется конструкция there are.

There is a sofa in the living room. - В гостиной есть диван.

There are armchairs in the kitchen. – На кухне есть стулья.

Для выражения отрицания употребляются формы isn’t или aren’t для единственного и множественного числа соответственно.

There isn’t a TV in the living room. –В гостиной нет телевизора.

There aren’t beds in the kitchen. –На кухне нет кроватей.

Чтобы задать вопрос, необходимо поменять местами слова в этих конструкциях.

Is there a lamp in the bedroom? – Есть ли лампа в спальне?

Are there chairs in the bathroom? – Есть ли стулья в ванной?
