This course is designed to further develop the skills required to teach English as a foreign language to adults or children, specifically in an online learning environment, and with particular focus on communication and speaking development. It has been structured to give teachers the opportunity to incorporate interactive and student centred techniques into their lessons using a Cambridge DELTA qualified English teacher’s approach.

Course Objectives

Create a learner-centred online classroom
Manage learner interactions
Utilise a variety of teaching approaches in an online environment
Exposure to warmers, games and speaking activities
Focus on building communication in the online environment
Evaluate activities for teaching online
Exposure to activities to develop exam-taking skills
Develop the English language level of teachers
Develop knowledge of idiomatic language and collocations

Course Plan (02 November – 6 November 2020)

Each day will include focus on activities and their purpose, and incorporate methodologies and approaches to build a student-centred classroom
