At 19:30 on 18 November 1987, a massive fire swept the King's Cross St Pancras tube station, the busiest station on the network, killed 31 people. Although smoking was banned on the London Underground, the fire was caused by a burning cigarette, which had been fallen (сигарета упала сама, то есть активный залог) the side of a wooden escalator.

Smoking should be banned in public places
Nowadays it is impossible to imagine our humanity without their bad habits. While some people firmly believe that states should prohibit smoking in public places, others think differently.
In my opinion, it is necessary to ban smoking in public places. From psychological point of view, small kids pay too much attention to individuals with cigarettes and then begin to imitate adult’s behavior. Therefore, smoking in public places should be prohibited because it is a bad example for curious children who do not know how they should behave in society. From social viewpoint, smoking in public places irritates surrounding people who have lead a healthy lifestyle, makes them nervous and aggressive. To predict such conflicts states should ban smoking in places where there is so many people.
However, many people think differently. They say that if people forbid smoking in public places it will have a bad impact on human freedom. Such prohibits violate personal rights which is contrary to the law of the country.
I cannot agree with the opponents’ opinion. I think that ban of smoking in public places can provide freedom and equality for all people, because everyone will be in the same conditions. In other words, a person's freedom ends where another person's freedom begins.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that smoking should be banned in public places. I have no doubt about it, because despite some minor minuses it such restrictions are fair to everybody.
