Past Participle – причастие прошедшего времени

Причастие прошедшего времени (V3) образуется:

У правильных глаголов: с помощью -ed в конце слова: danced, liked, lived, invited.
У неправильных глаголов: особым образом, см. таблицу неправильных глаголов.

Причастия прошедшего времени переходных глаголов имеют страдательное значение и переводятся причастиями, оканчивающимися на «нный», «тый», «вшийся», «мый», «щийся».

Эти причастия употребляются:

1. в функции определения перед сущ.: an improved model – усовершенствованная модель; booked tickets – заказанные билеты

2. после сущ., если причастие имеет при себе пояснительные слова:

The progress achieved by him in studies is great. Успехи, достигнутые им в учёбе большие.

The exhibition heldin Sokolniki was a great success. Выставка, проведённая в Сокольниках, пользовалась большим успехом

to discuss – discussed – discussed (V3) – discussing -обсуждать

discussed (V3) – обсуждённый, обсуждаемый

an asked question – заданный (задаваемый) вопрос (от глагола to ask)

an ordered book – заказанная (заказываемая книга (от глагола to order)

a decided problem – решённая (решаемая проблема (от глагола to decide)

1. He doesn’t like boiled milk.
2. I remember well his words said at the meeting.
3. We don’t like the book bought last week.
4. The stolen things were returned to the owner.
5. Asked about this event, he replied nothing.
6. The explanation given was not complete.
7. When burnt, coal produces heat.
8. The results received were of great importance for the further work.
9. When reconstructed the theatre looked more beautiful than before.
10. She showed us a list of the newly published books.
