IPOs

 

The Yokohama-based R&D firm “T&S inc.” (ティアンドエス株式会社), which develops IT systems for semiconductor plants and software for advanced-technology industries, received approval from the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) to go public on the “Mothers” section of the exchange, and is expected to do so on August 7. The TSE participant that is managing the IPO is Ichiyoshi Securities.

 

 

New plant investment

 

SENKO Group Holdings is reportedly planning to spend ¥24 billion ($220 million) to build 5 new distribution in response to growth in online shopping

 

MinebeaMitsumi, a manufacturer of electronic and mechanical components, will be spending ¥3.7 billion to build and equip a technology center at its headquarters in Nagano Prefecture in order to perform R&D on ball bearings, aircraft parts, etc.

 

 

M&A

 

It was announced that San-Etsu Metals, headquartered in Toyama Prefecture, would be acquiring the copper-alloy business of Hitachi Metals’ Okegawa Plant in Saitama Prefecture.

 

 

Earnings news for listed companies

 

Satellite TV broadcaster Nippon BS Broadcasting Corp. announced that it recorded a consolidated working profit of ¥1.677 billion ($15.6 million) for the nine months ended May 31, up 25.7% over the results for the year-earlier period.

 

Kawaguchi Chemical Industry announced that it registered a consolidated working profit of ¥83 million for the six months ended May 31, equivalent to 166% of the result for the year-earlier period.

 

 

Earnings news from Kampo (primarily unlisted companies)

 

Among the companies publishing annual earnings information in the Kampo on Friday for the fiscal year ended March 31, the company with the highest profit was ORIX Credit Corp. (a 100% subsidiary of ORIX Corp.), which announced net income of ¥8.196 billion ($76.2 million) for the year, the second best was the construction company Kajima Road (a 100% subsidiary of Kajima Corp.), with net income of ¥7.158 billion, and the worst was Yanmar Power Technology (a subsidiary of Yanmar Holdings), with a net loss of ¥4.195 billion for the year ended March 31.

Tenders

 

The city of Takatsuki in Osaka Prefecture announced a tender (initial applications must be submitted by September 25) for the PFI redevelopment of the Fusue (富寿栄) city-owned housing project, involving the demolition of 17 high-rise housing blocks and the building of 320 housing units. The projected price of the project is ¥7,214,896,000 ($67 million).
