1) Everybody needs a home.

2) A place where you can feel safe, a place where you can relax and recreate your energy.

3) There are many types of houses.

4) A detached house is a house which stands alone.

5) It has some space around it for a garden or some flowerbeds.

6) The largest kind of detached houses is a mansion.

7) Mansions have many bedrooms and several bathrooms.

8) If you live in a mansion, you have much privacy.

9) But it can be very expensive.

10) Cottages are period country houses.

11) They have thick walls, small windows and low ceilings.

12) Bungalows are modern detached houses. They usually have only one floor.

13) A semi-detached house consist of two parts which have a common roof and a common wall.

14) They are like “twins”.

15) In each part lives one family.

16) They also have separate gardens.

17) Semi-detached houses are cheaper.

18) But if you want to make repairs, you need to discuss it with your neighbours.

19) In Great Britain you can find terraced houses.

20) Four or more houses are joined together in a row.

21) They are cheap and small.

22) They usually have no garden.

23) The most common type of houses in Belarus is a block of flats.

24) They have many floors and several flats on each floor.

25) Such houses usually have little privacy.

26) Besides, build unusual houses - like a brand-new castle or a tree house.

27) Some houses are old, others are new.

28) Period houses have more charm.

29) But modern houses have all modern conveniences.

30) As you can see, there are many types of houses - but the most important thing is to make your house cozy.
