… gaura-deha—to the transcendental body of Ś rī Caitanya Mahā prabhu;

All glories to the transcendental form of Ś rī Caitanya Mahā prabhu, who is Kṛ ṣ ṇ a Himself, the Supreme Personality of Godhead! My dear Lord, kindly give me shelter at Your lotus feet by Your causeless mercy.

Anubh.: gaura-deha — the one who possesses body of golden color

TEXT 23

Ś rī Caitanya Mahā prabhu further inquired from Haridā sa, “Can you ascertain what your disease is? ”

Haridā sa Ṭ hā kura replied, “My disease is that I cannot complete my rounds. ”

Purp.: If one cannot complete the fixed number of rounds he is assigned, he should be considered to be in a diseased condition of spiritual life. Ś rī la Haridā sa Ṭ hā kura is called nā mā cā rya. Of course, we cannot imitate Haridā sa Ṭ hā kura, but everyone must chant a prescribed number of rounds. In our Kṛ ṣ ṇ a consciousness movement we have fixed sixteen rounds as the minimum so that the Westerners will not feel burdened. These sixteen rounds must be chanted, and chanted loudly, so that one can hear himself and others.

Anubh.: From this verse also, it is to be understood that it is the only duty of every sā dhaka who has taken shelter at the holy name to regularly and loudly chant the Hare Kṛ ṣ ṇ a mahā -mantra (consisting of 16 names and 32 syllables), strictly maintaining the vow of chanting the accepted number of the names, following in the footsteps of Haridā sa Ṭ hā kura; see Antya 3. 100, 114-16, 121, 124-25, 130, 176, 225, 229, 240-44, etc.

“Your role in this incarnation is to deliver the people in general. You have sufficiently preached the glories of the holy name in this world. ”

Purp.: … Ś rī la Bhaktisiddhā nta Sarasvatī Ṭ hā kura says that advanced devotees help the Supreme Personality of Godhead in His mission and that such devotees or personal associates incarnate by the will of the Supreme Lord. The Supreme Lord incarnates by His own will, and, by His will, competent devotees also incarnate to help Him in His mission. Haridā sa Ṭ hā kura is thus the incarnation of Lord Brahmā, and other devotees are likewise incarnations who help in the prosecution of the Lord’s mission.

Anubh.: tomā ra avatā ra bhagavad-bhakta o pā rṣ ada-gaṇ a bhagavā nera icchā -krame tā ṅ hā ra sevā rthe pṛ thivī te avatī rṇ a hana [= The devotees and associates of the Lord descend on this Earth by the will of the Lord for the purpose of serving Him. ]
