Pattern Notes



Stockinette in rows:
Row 1 (RS): knit
Row 2 (WS): purl
Repeat 2 rows.

Stockinette in rounds: all rounds knit

Reverse stockinette:
Row 1 (RS): purl
Row 2 (WS): knit
Repeat 2 rows.

1x1 rib in rows (multiple of 2 +1):
Row 1 (RS): *k1, p1 - repeat from * to last st, k1.
Row 2 (WS): *p1, k1 - repeat from * to last st, p1.

1x1 rib in rounds (multiple of 2):
All rounds: *k1, p1 - repeat from * across the round.

Raglan increases: Increase for raglan by making 1 st (m1) on each side of indicated, marked, stitch in every right side (RS) row: m1, sm (slip marker), k1 (raglan st), m1. There are 4 raglan lines, so in each RS row the number of stitches is increased by 8.

Selvedge/Edge stitches: knit the first st. and purl the last one.

Button bands (bb) are worked together with the body of the sweater on 3 sts in the beginning and 3 sts in the end of the row, in garter stitch: all rows knit.


Sweater

Sweater is worked top-down, seamlessly, back and forth, with raglan sleeves and button band on the back. The sweater is worked in stockinette and reverse stockinette, with 1x1 rib at the neckline, hem and cuffs. Sleeves are worked in rounds on dpn.

With white yarn, cast on 45 sts

Row 1: k4, *p1, k1 - repeat to last 5 sts, p1, k3, p1.

Row 2: k4, *k1, p1 - to last 5 sts, k4, p1.

Repeat rows 1-2 one more time.

Check the sts and place markers:
1 edge - 3 R bb - 4 R back - 1 raglan (place marker before this st) - 8 R sleeve - 1 raglan (second raglan line, place the second marker before this st) - 9 front - 1 raglan (third raglan line, place marker before this st) - 8 L sleeve - 1 raglan (forth raglan line, place marker before this st) - 4 L back - 3 L bb - 1 edge.

Row 5 (RS, and all RS rows, increase rows): *knit all sts till marker, m1, sm, k1, m1 - repeat from * 4 times, knit all sts till the last one, p1. (+ 8 sts)

Row 6 (WS and all WS rows): k4, purl all sts to last 4, slip markers while working, k3, p1.

Repeat rows 5 and 6 seven more times.

The number of sts after row 5 = 53 sts
After row 7= 61 sts
After row 9 = 69 sts
After row 11 = 77 sts
After row 13 = 85 sts
After row 15 = 93 sts
After row 17 = 101 sts
After row 19 = 109 sts


Divide for sleeves and bodice

Row 21 (RS): k4, p13, transfer 24 sts to a piece of waste yarn, co 5, p27, transfer 24 sts to a piece of waste yarn, co 5, p13, k3, p1. = 71 sts

Row 22 (WS): k70, p1.

Row 23 (RS, light green yarn): k70, p1.

Row 24 (WS): k4, p63, k3, p1.

Repeat rows 23-24 one more time.

Row 27 (RS, white yarn): k70, p1

Row 28 (WS): k70, p1

Row 29 (RS, red yarn): repeat row 23

Row 30 (WS): repeat row 24.

Repeat rows 29-30 one more time.

Rows 33-34 (white yarn): repeat rows 28-29.

Row 35 (RS, dark green yarn): repeat row 23.

Row 36 (WS): repeat row 24.

Repeat rows 35-36 one more time.

Rows 39 (RS) - 40 (WS) - 41 (RS) (white yarn): k70, p1.

Row 42 (WS): k4, p63, k3, p1.

Repeat rows 41-42 one more time.

Row 45 (RS): k4, *p1, k1 - repeat to last 5 sts, p1, k3, p1.

Row 46 (WS): k4, *k1, p1 - repeat to last 5 sts, k4, p1.

Repeat rows 45-46 three more times or to desired length. Bind off.


Sleeves

Transfer 24 sts to dpn, distributing them evenly.

Round 1 (white yarn): starting from the third underarm st, pu& k 3 sts, k24, pu& k 2 sts. Place marker after the last 2 sts, to mark the beginning of the round. = 29 sts

Rounds 2-3: knit around.

Rounds 4-5: purl around.

Rounds 6-9 ( light green yarn): knit around.

Round 10 (white yarn): knit around.

Rounds 11-12: purl around.

Rounds 13-16 (red yarn): knit around.

Rounds 17-19 (white yarn): repeat rounds 10-12.

Rounds 20-23 (dark green yarn): knit around.

Rounds 24-26 (white yarn): repeat rounds 10-12.

Round 27 (decrease round): k1, k2tog, k24, ssk = 27 sts.

Round 28: knit around. Repeat round 28 five more times.

Round 34: k2tog, *p1, k1 - repeat to last st, p1.

Round 35: *k1, p1 - repeat across.

Repeat round 35 five more times.


Finishing

Weave in all yarn ends. Sew snaps to the button bands.


Hat

The hat is worked in-the-round, from the bottom up. It is decorated with a pom-pom.

With white yarn, cast on 64 sts, distribute evenly on dpn, join into round, taking care not to twist the stitches.

Work six rounds in 1x1 rib: *k1, p1 - repeat across.

Rounds 7-11: knit.

Rounds 12-13: purl

Rounds 14-17 with green yarn: knit

Round 18 with white yarn: knit

Rounds 19-20: purl

Repeat rounds 14-20 two more times, using different color yarns for rounds 14-17.

Change to white yarn and knit across.

The next round: *k2tog - repeat across. = 32 sts

Knit the next round.

The next round: *k2tog - repeat across. = 16 sts

Knit the next round.

The next round: *k2tog - repeat across. = 8 sts

Cut yarn, leaving a 10” long end. Thread the end through the remaining sts and secure.

Out of white, green and red yarn, make a pom-pom and sew it on top of the hat.

 

Scarf

The scarf is worked in rows in garter stitch – all rows knit.

Cast on 6 sts (this includes edge sts).

Row 1: k5, p1. Repeat row 1 until the working piece measures 21” (53 sm) or to desired length.

Out of green and red yarns, make 2 pom-poms and sew them to the ends of the scarf.
