3)Why do you like trains?

I like going by train because: ….

Advantages:

1. It’s fast.

2. It’s cheaper than planes.

3. It’s comfortable, because you can sleep and walk there.

4. You can take a lot of luggage.

5. You can meet new people.

6. There are stops on the way and you can go out and walk a little and buy something tasty.

7. Railway stations are situated in city centres.

But there are also some disadvantages

Disadvantages:

1. It’s longer than by plane.

2. Sometimes you can have fellow-passengers that you don’t like. But you have to spend a lot of time with them.

3. There is very little space in the trains.

4)Why do you like going by car?

I like going by car because: ….

Advantages:

1. There are no strangers in the car, only your family or friends.

2. You can stop where and when you want to have a rest or to have a snack.

3. You can take as many things as you need (you can even take a bicycle).

4. You don’t have to go to an airport or a railway station to start your journey. It saves your time.

5. You can see a lot of beautiful places and learn your own country better.

6. If you travel with your family, it’s much cheaper than any other means of travel. So, you can save money.

7. You can take your pets with you.

But there are also some disadvantages

Disadvantages:

1. It’s very tiring for the driver.

2. There is very little space in a car.

3. It’s not safe (it’s one of the most dangerous means of travel).

4. You can meet with problems on your way: you can get into an accident, you can get into a traffic jam, you can get a flat tyre)

5. The roads in Russia are not very good.

6. Sometimes you have to pay for driving on the roads.

5) Going by air

When you come to the airport, first you go to the check-in desk where they weigh your luggage. The airline representative checks your ticket and gives you aboarding pass. Then you go through passport control into the departure lounge. Here, you can buy things in the duty-free.

About half an hour before take-off, you go to your gate, where you wait before you get on the plane. When you boardthe plane, you find your seat.

The plane then taxis towards the runway and takes off.

When you are on board the plane, the stewardess asks the passengers to fasten seat belts.

When the plane lands, you get off the plane and walk through the terminal building and go to the baggage reclaim where you collect your luggage. You then pass through customs. You can get a bus, taxi or train to the city centre.
